    Motor overheating

Hi all...new x axis motor. Have been using for a couple of days with no apparent issues but when it was powered up today and homed, it wasn't used for several minutes and alarmed out after 20 minutes or so of just sitting at the home position. Anybody got any ideas? Brand new motor. Feels quite warm. Thanks..this machine is making me nuts...

The amps were adjusted to within +/- 1 of each other.

Did you go to "Last Home Position" after cold starting? If so, is Y axis all the way forward? Double check your limits. After cold starting, before returning to last home position, verify ALL axis' are lined up to the marks for cold start. If so, then jog axis in question to the limit, and while watching the table, press e-stop and see if the axis moves away from the position that you moved it to. If it does, then you need to either readjust your cold start position or your hard limit. VMC15's are known to have this issue.
