My gregs is remote so I never had the two together.
The hole on the gregs was actually a semicircle that I had to make round and a few other holes in it were
actually not holes but they were easy enough to drill out.
Don't remember if slic3r gave me a manifold error when I sliced the stl or not.
    Eh, still works.

I actually drilled and tapped a 6-32 set screw to hold the Jhead in the Greg's.
It was loose. It was tight in the Wade's. It came with set screw holes too, but not the Greg's.
I did consider wrapping it with tape, but I wanted a set screw.

Here's a sneak peek at what I was working on today, a new ally bed to hold
a 10x10 pane of glass and an ally lower to give more y travel.
Nothing mounted yet, just laying there for a photo op.

well Hoss I have followed your lead once again and just ordered a Prusa from Maker Farm. The basement is being remodeled, so work on the G0704, is going to have to wait, so a nice small toy to keep me occupied will be fun. Keep the improvements comming, so us dummies can have something to aspire to............

    Hoss,

What is the type of belt/pulley (# of teeth, MXL, etc) used on your RepRap? I want to order some from Stock Drive Products instead of printing out the pulley. I'm presuming the stuff on the RepRap uses belts with the least amount of backlash (I believe Trapezoidal teeth is less backlash than curvilinear but not sure)

    thx

Yeah I had fun getting the mill making parts again, printing is a fun little side hobby
    but it's addicting.

Hoss, is there any possibility that your pcb board can be cut down to fit the seemecnc printer. I want a hot bed.

For the heatbed, the circuit trace covers the entire board on one side. See http://www.reprap.org/wiki/PCB_Heatbed

Some have mounted resistors on an aluminum plate to make a heatbed. There are posts about this in the reprap.org forum.

I believe most come standard with the XL but many are converting over to the GT2 if I remember correctly for better control and reduced backlash. I'm not sure how much difference it makes. I started to order some new belts and pulleys but heck it does pretty darn good with what it came with.

I only ordered store bought pulleys when I hadd trouble with one of the OEM printed ones. The other one was fine, but changed both.
The XL type with 10 teeth pulleys work great. Not bad on cost. You only need the pulleys if you bought from Maker Farm. He ships the XL belt with the SAE Prusa.

I am sure I could print better pulleys than the bad original now, but there is the chicken or the egg effect at play here.

    Yes it is.
Got a great price for a 10x10 tempered glass panel here.

timothy, as you probably saw in stephens link their PCB traces go almost all the way to the edges
so trimming would be out but I've seen someone on the yahoo group that made room
on their H1 for the same heatbed.

    heated bed

    Hi,

If you have a mill or an engraver the heated bed is a really simple milling job as there are no holes and such. The milling path can easily be drawn in a cad program. So no need for a PCB program and gerber converter. So you could easily make a custom size.

Look up heated silicone mats. I have one under a 14 X 14 piece of glass. You can have it made it any size. Flexible and self adhesive. Brisk Heat, out of Columbus, Ohio

Interesting find but it's AC powered and cost $100 for a 12"x12" sheet.
