I finally have a full 3 axis machine to play with. Just got the z axis working last week. The machine has about 6'X4'X2' - it was an old film step and repeat machine. The x/y axiss has germen steppers and controler that came with it. The z is using a 6 amp compumotor controller. When I get a chance I will take some picures of the actual machine.
The machine is run with turbocnc 4.01 and works quite well - x and y will go over 200 inches per minute. Our big nc mill was only 2.5 axis. This is a treat.

this was done with a 1/8 inch ball end mill - the cube is 1.25 square. I didn't get all the way around because I would have to make a jig to hold the last to sides to cut. It was done using turbocnc programing extentions. calculating the arcs in the xz and yz planes using sin cos. pretty short and sweet program.
thanks for lookin
