Does anyone know what pin goes to what color wire in the G540 cables? I am helping a friend convert his old machine over and the cables are at his house 45 minutes away. I am trying to get his control box wired up. I need to know which pins the red, yellow, green and brown wires go to.

Look on Page 10 of the MyCNCv1.PDF It shows a "translation" of the color coded wires of a standard DB9 cable, and the way that I wired up the motors on my machine. Hope this helps.

I would NOT trust any color wire documentation. While you often get consistent color coding, it's not at all guaranteed. Check it with a ohm meter.

The motors I have from CNCRP (including two new ones I just received) have red, blue, yellow, and green wires. You'll need an ohmmeter to find out which ones are a coil pair.

As brtech says, there's no guaranteed standard for the wire colors.

Yeah I know. I will just have to wait till the weekend to get that part wired up. Other than that his controller is all wired up.
