Folks,

Looking at getting a chinse CNC milling machine for PCB plus perhpas other uses. It seems there are two basic models, the 3020T and the 3040T but not sure what the real difference is. It appears to be really just the size. Any other comments?

I like the way you phrased the question. The vendor should proudly use the slogan "Our product was voted least bad by our customers"

If all you want are pcbs, have you considered toner transfer? I use a $40 laser, $30 laminator and magazine paper. I done 3 surface mount designs so far. 15 mil traces has been 100% successful on the first try.

I plan to use my mill occasionally for simple pcbs, but I think toner is much faster.

I thought it would be usefull for all sorts of electronic construction such as front panels, chassis mounts etc. but I think PCB is the most critical.

I have use UV exposure and direct drawn with a roland plotter with limited success. If you don't do many keeping the etchant seems to be an issue. At present I don't have a laser printer but was thinking of getting one due the cost of keeping the good lady in inkjet ink...

From a Club Toyota magazine. I hear that Hp presentation paper works better. I will find out in a few minutes.
