    Red face limit switch triggered

My home made cnc router stop sometimes due to one of my limit getting triggered . I think its a vibration problem.
I cant remember where, but is there not a diagnostic tool that gives you a list of the alarms triggered.
If I could at least pinpoint witch axis is involved it could help.
Ive tried looking at the diagnostic page limits alarms l.e.d. for them to flicker
but was never fortunate enough to catch it.
I would rather fix the problem than to use a higher debounce value...

    Hi Claude
For sure you can measure with a voltmeter each limit switch and see which one is just triggered at that moment. If you take the X-Y-Z Axis that must be the one which shows another measurement than the other two. If you cannot measure on the switches themselves you can do it in the electronic chassis.

If you have wired all your limit switches in series, then the two contacts of the limit switch which annoys you must be opened.

You most likely have a noise issue.
This can be caused by poor grounding and bonding all metal parts of the machine, as well as PC and supplies.
Do you have a central Earth ground point set up?

try removing wires off the limit switches one by one and you will get the culprit one

I agree that this is most likely a noise issue. Also make sure that the leads coming off of the limit switch are twisted. Twisting each phase of each stepper individually also helps a lot.

Problem solved after replacing my porter cable router.
I notice my router making intermittent noise, it was inducing similar noise in my stepper.
I suspect my router speed controller or armature starting to short out...

    thanks everyone.
