    Bending 6mm Alu 6082

I need to put a slight 10deg bend into Alu plates that are roughly 100mm X 50mm X 6mm thick without damaging the plates too much.

Will this sort of Heath Robinson device using a bottle jack be OK or will I need an hydraulic bench press?

    The material is 6082 T6.

    Thanks in advance.

T6 heat treat just might break before it accepts 10 degrees too.

    Job done successfully

Made a male + female former for the vice & it bent a continuous curve beautifully without too much pressure.

Tried it by just bending a sharper angle in the middle of the plate but the outer surface just rizzled & cracked.
