    Euro-Hybrid plasma/router

    Hi all,

I am 29 years old and live in the Netherlands. If my English is bad now you know why.
I studied Electro-mechanics in Belgium and work in a paper mill as engeneer E&I (electronics & instumentation), in my daily work I have to do with PLCs, VFDs, and (power) electronics.

After a test build, I am now building a real machine.

I would like to make a hybrid machine. so I can do some plasma cutting but can also do milling.
Because I like to weld I make my machine Completely out of steel.
My machine is 1m x 1.5m by bringing up the gantry I can cut pieces that are bigger then my milling area.
(Because I live in Europe, I work with the metric system)
I've been a busy few weeks now and am now waiting for parts.
Maybe someone can give me some advise or perhaps someone else gets inspiered.

    Thanks so far
    Dr. Arc

I put some pictures to make it more clearer

    Hi rexcobey
I also use Usbcnc from eding, how did you itegrated the thc into the software?
The software disigner told me there is not yet an torch up, torch down and arc ok feature like mach3.
For milling, USBCNC from edding is the best!!!

I know Kevin, I bought most of the parts there. In januari he told me he was thinking of making a complete system together with Bert Edding.

because it will be a Hybrid i'll make the milling parts first then i'll ad an plasma function on it.

On your pictures i see both (router / cutter) on the same Z axle, does it work well?

I'm thinking of making two Z's. one for cutting and one for milling.

yes i have teknomotor in my z axis i put because i need to make a hole on the plate before execute the plasma or oxygen fuel cutting to bypass the piercing
    procedure.

on my z axis you can see there is two motor, one on z axis and the one on the torch lifter.

on my z axis the stepper motor are hookup on my usbcnc CPU5 B while the motor on my torch lifter are hookup on stand alone THC

MDF with the router and sheetmetal max 5mm with the plasma, I build my first MDF cnc last winter just from scrap pieces i had laying around.
I'll plan on building a new one with the machine I'm building now.
But it's all hobby and fun.
