    Frontier L lathe

Can someone give me some info on a mori frontier L lathe.
We purchased it to use in our 2 man shop.
1986, 8" chuck, collet nose with bar feeder. fanuc 21t control
machine came out of a 1 owner garage shop. It looks like it was carefully run.

we wil not get it till next tuesday.
are there any issues i should ckeck upon setup?

this will be my first fanuc machine....so i think i will have plenty of questions.
I plan on programming using Gibbs. But would like to learn g code as i go

    thanks

Mori's are pretty nice so you shouldn't have any issues. We have Mori's from 1990 (mostly SL/ZL) and they are still ok.
In any case it's just a CNC lathe but your question is far too wide. If you want specific info you need to ask a specific question. 'more info' could be anything and the set of manuals for 21i series total about 4000+ pages.

The pics I found on google show it as 1996 21iT
If it were 1986 it would have to be Fanuc 10

I assume this is like your machine.....

1996 is right....i guess i had a typo in there. I do have the manuals.

Are these machines linear ways or box ways in "z".

Looks like box ways on "y"

    Two different L series...

    Frontier L1
    Frontier L2

Frontier L1 was similar to a old Al2. Linear
Frontier L2 was a newer SL25. Box way.

    Oh, and 2 axis lathes don't have a Y. X and Z.
