3 ph spindle mtr on C6 lathe

Has anyone done a 3 ph spindle motor conversion on the older (2005?) C6? I'm trying to get into the motor enough to read the plate without doing a total tear down, but it appears that the info on the motor plate does not conform to NEMA standards so I may have to remove the motor entirely to get the dimensions. Just thought someone else might already have that info.
My objective is to go with a 3 ph motor and VFD to give me software control over spindle speed, or at least "turn of the knob" control.

It can be done, but you need to make a support plate for a standard motor.

    Have fun

That is an overkill fot that size lathe,1ph is generous enough.

What you have to think of is what the lowest speed will be,what is it by the way?

He didn't mention motor power, just that he wants to usa a 3ph (phase) motor and a VFD, from 0.75 to 1.5hp is enough IMHO
