    DRO on the Quill

This is one of those things Newall don't tell customers about.... Or at least in my case I wasn't aware of it.

When I installed the DRO on my little Bridgeport I couldn't use the original feed wheel for the quill. The wheel hit the mounting brackets and bolts for the encoder.

I never knew how much I'd miss it.....

I finally took the time to make a spacer to bring the feed wheel out almost 5/8 of an inch.

So be ware of the problem. The only other option I know of is to use a smaller plastic wheel that comes on some of the imports.

I left the drawing file at the shop so if some of you are interested, I'll post the drawing for the spacer tomorrow.....
