FANUC 3M Drip Feed Conversion Chip Transfer

    Hello All,

I'm doing research at the moment, but believe that our main/motherboard in our mill, FANUC 3M-C, may have been damaged by a short circuit. It has the fanuc3mdripfeed.com chips on it. Does anyone know if I have to replace the board, can I simply transfer the chips to the new board? Or are the chips specific to an individual board or machine? Are there other chips or components that must be transplanted too? The board is a A16B-1000-0010 / 07f

    Thank you for your help.

you can simply transfer the Dripfeed chips what we call the system eproms to your new master pcb(A16B-1000-0010 ).do ensure that the small links/jumpers are kept as the original master pcb(A16B-1000-0010 ).

Thank you cnc.techie. I appreciate your response. Second Question: I see the A16B-1000-0010 board ending with 07f, in my case. I am guessing that this is a revision level for the board. Would a board ending in 08f or 09f work? Ideally I would prefer to match everything exactly, but we don’t always get what we want.

    Thank you again.

Transfer all the chips that plug into sockets. I just did this on my 3m not long ago. You may have to do the procedure to reactivate your drip feed chips again.

Thank you all again for your input. I thought some of you might want to know the final outcome. With the help of a friend, we were able to trace the problem to the RS232 receiver chip on the main board. We desoldered it and replaced it with a new one. Today I was able to upload a program.
