Hello All,

I already have a 3 axis setup I'm using. It's a HobbyCNC setup
with (3) 305oz steppers. I can add a 4th axis to this setup, but
it has to be another stepper motor, I cannot use a servo motor.

What I'm wanting to do, is add in a 4th axis using a servo motor
for a spindle on my mill. This way I could run it like a stepper or
in high speed to "turn" items like a lathe as well.

So, what I'm wondering is, can I add in a servo motor, driver board
and the other assorted stuff and plug it into a USB or parallel port,
and have my CNC software use it along with my HobbyCNC gear?

If I have to go with the stepper I will, but I'm really wanting to have
the ability to turn stuff on the mill like a lathe as well, and this will
need a powerful servo motor.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Patrick
