Dear All,
I'm back in discovering my Mazak VQC20/50b fitted with a CAM-M2 controller.
i've just repaired my automatic tool measurement unit and the tools are correctly measured.

So i continue now i'd like to set a work piece reference....

With the machine I have a Renishaw MP3 probe. I'm sure I have all the options in the machine because the Renishaw was in place in the tool holder.

I have no idea how to set it. I put it in the #24 tool place but when I want to input the tool parameter I only have a "PALPEUR" in french (probably PROBE in english) tool type that seeming to correspond to my Renishaw probe.

But how can I know the other parameter? the ball seems to be 5mm but where can I find the lenght etc...

the probe needs a starting point, in other words a length and diameter usualy .100 larger than the part to be checked. get a standerd, check length z, diameter x, add .100 and the there should be a macro parameter, to set for each.
also reinshaw usely provides a g code for this but you need to position the probe within at least .100 of the part x and z.

the stylus is 100mm long. But cf this manual in french (proivided with the VQC) it seems to be fully automatic.

Obviously I need to place it in the good pocket on the rotary tool holder.

I do not know where to find where the Renishaw MP3 probe was set?
I think I first need to find where to place it.

Same set up as mine and I have no idea how to use it yet. Anyone know of a link to a user guide for the MP3 on a VQC 20/50b. You would have my eternal thanks
