Hello all,

Searched forum but didn't find answer on this. We bought another seat license for Bobcad V24. Has been setup on a system identical to the first seat in all aspects. Spent many many hours creating tool library on first system. I copied the tool file for mill and lathe and put them on new system. They are not loading in program. When I go to choose tool for either lathe or mill, I get the default tools. I searched drive and only found the tool files in the Bobcad-cam data folder under milling and lathe technology. I have even tried removing ALL files in both tool folders. Restarted bobcad, and it still brings up the default tools in the dialog boxes, etc. My question is, where is it seeing these default tools if the file is not even there? I am stumped as to how to bring in the tool library. I REALLY don't want to have to create all tools again on new system. In AutoCAD and Inventor, etc, you can use same tool libraries. I would think you could here too. Any ideas on how? Or am I doing something wrong? Thanks for your input on this.

BobCAD CAM V24:

C:\BobCAD-CAM Data\BobCAD-CAM V24\MillingTechnology\Tools\Mill

This is where BobCAD saves your tool files.

In this folder there are 5 mtools files

defaultTools.defmtools

LaserToolFile.mtools

PlasmaToolFile.mtools

ToolFile.mtools

WaterjetToolFile.mtools


You would want to copy the ToolFile.mtools from one computer to the other.

Yes, as I said in my post I tried to move the files already that you stated. Did not work. But in any case, I resolved it myself. Uninstalled BobCAD and then reinstalled. Works fine now, have no idea why it didn't use the files on the first install.
