I was just wondering what you al thought would be a better machine to build without a CNC to cut the parts. I know both are great machines but I am just wondering about pros and cons of each.

I was thinking abou modifying Grünblau design to make it smaller and work more like joes design.

Between the Grünblau & Joe's, I would pick Joe's - both because of the price of the plans (free, versus $80 on sale now for $40 - Brian Oltrogge | Grünblau Design Studio | MDF3790 ), but also there's such a wealth of information on CNCZONE about the Joe's 2006.

Actually, I think many people build a JGRO's machine, and use that machine to CNC-cut their next machine.

If you don't want to go the JGRO route, there is a modified version of the Joe's 2006 you can buy from Kelvoden (he modified the plans to make them easier to manually cut the pieces).
