Does anybody know what channel I need to be on to use the USB port on the new Fanuc 0i-MD? I can't find it in any of the manuals and I talked to 2 people at Fanuc FA America today and they couldn't answer the question. They thought it may be either 9 ,19, or 29. I tried all 3 today while I had temporary power to the machine and none worked. Also does it function the same as the card slot. I'm just hoping somebody can tell me before I get my permanent connection tomorrow and have to try all channels.

I have a full set of 0i-Model D manuals. there's no mention of USB. what machine do you have? It sounds like a MTB-added feature. Newer Mori's like NT (with Fanuc 31i/32i-based controls) have USB and yes it operates basically the same way as the card slot. You can read and save files.

Just found out it is channel 17 and can be used for data input/output but not DNC function.
