    Used 8020 or similar extrusion

Anyone had any experiences (good or bad) buying used extrusion such as 8020, Bosch etc., particularly online. I don't mean new cutoffs, but actual used stuff. There's a guy on ebay that sells lot quantities of used extrusion. Most of it looks too light and the brand is shown as "unknown", but occasionally he'll have something that looks useable. I know it's not the best way to go, but my budget is really tight! Anyone? Thanks

Its like anything used... you can score deals and get burned...

I know it was cheaper for me to order 8020 from a local distributor then to buy from the 8020 discount ebay store.

Yeah, you're right about that - I've mostly gotten pretty good (or at least fair) deals online, but been burned a time or two. Never bought used extrusion online b4 though. If I was near a metal recycler I'd check b4 I bought to be sure of what I'm getting, but, unfortunately the nearest one is about 7 hours away.

I would avoid anything you can't verify the brand on. You might end up with a grab bag of inch, metric, different sizes, incompatible fasteners, etc. If you can find a good deal on something you know you can get parts for, go for it.
