We recently had shipped from one of our locations a 5x12 Multicam SF series router. I am assuming it is from 1998? The PC that was with the unit was functional and now it fried. We have had our shop mechanic set up the power and connections. What I need full help with is getting it running.
I currently make signage with our router. All my artwork comes from Adobe Illustrator and then laid out in Cut2D and set in G-code form to the router. The router has Mach2 running on it. We have been comfortable running this but, this is all I know.
The 2nd router we want to get running did have some controller program (we don't have the software any longer), Enroute 2.5. We did purchase a new standard 9 pin serial cable and connected it. The motherboard on the router lights up showing connection. On the PC (which is the old HDD from the fried PC, running on a new box), the recognition program to find the router will not find it. I have tried different scenarios but, I dont have the experience to set this up.
My question if possible:
I have a copy of VCarve pro 6. Am I able to send files using that program at the router? Is there any freebie programs to see if I can get connection functional?
The old router worked fine prior to the pc frying out. Nobody in the shop know how to get it running again.
Thank you for any help!
