I really like the look of this Grizzly (http://www.grizzly.com/products/G3102) and wanted to paint my mill a similar color of white instead of the current tool gray. Can anyone think of a good reason why I shouldn't repaint my mill to be like this?

Certain tools will not work correctly when painted white.
Just kidding. Can't think of a reason, other than I like red.

As a DeWalt fan, I am kinda partial to Yellow and Black. Yellow IS the new Red...

But seriously, you should pick a color that doesn't clash with the grease.

I have run Grey, Green, White and now Blue machines.
Green is supposed to be the most psychologically soothing color according to a study by the German government many, many years ago but I think White or Blue is more soothing.

For a soothing work environment Baker Miller Pink is the color to use for everything; machines, floor, wall. Google it to find out why.

I have a Jet JTM-2 and a GBH-1340.I have them in my house in a front room.(hate the thought of them living in the garage alone).The white fits any decor.LOL

yeah one day you guys are going to look back at pictures of yourselves with your funny coloured mills and ruffled shirts and be soooo embarassed. stick to tradition, grey is the only colour for a machine tool, well ok, green works as well when you want to step out a bit

Well when dealing will oil and stuff like that white shows all the crap....I prefer gray....it always looks cleaner.

I would agree, white would get dirty faster - but maybe the machinery will be cleaned more offten because you notice it more? Just a guess.

ALL of you have entirely TOO much time on your hands.
If God would have wanted machines any other color but gray, he'd have made it cheaper and if it had been Bridgeport/BMI (when they were still solvent - no pun intended) would have used it.....
