    X4+ Enclosure

A few pictures of the enclosure I made for my X4+

I started by enlarging the pan that came with the mill. I made aluminum sloped sides in 2 pieces (front & back) for easy removal.

On top of that I used 1" "TSlot" extrusion pieces. A door at each side that when open will allow for the full range of the Y axis if something should stick out. The panel on each side of each door is removable with 2 screws. The doors are removable via 2 part hinge and are interchangeable.

The front window is full width and slides straight up. Note that in these pictures the right hand side has a latch that keeps the window from falling on my head. The handle on the left will be replaced with a corresponding latch as soon as I get it made.

The entire assembly (stand, tool box, flood system, enclosure and mill) move easily on heavy duty casters. These casters will rotate freely or lock in one of the four directions making the unit very maneuverable.

In the works is a leveling system using 3 short hydraulic rams attached to my porta power via a selector manifold. I don't really understand why a mill needs to be perfectly level (if it is square and even), but my floor is not even and I need to be able to get the coolant running toward the drain.

I have lots more pictures and cad drawings should anyone be interested
