Hello, I was told that if I add a G64 to the beginning of my code it will turn on cv in mach3 so my part will cut smoother. So I created my cam part and edited the g-code then tried cutting the code in Mach but it didn't do anything different. Now when I go back to try and edit again to try it over because didn't work he first time it says "can't get g code file. The only way I know how to fix it is to delete the whole cam part and start it over. That still leaves me with the problem of editing it. Is there a way to edit the gcode and still be able to return to it through solidcam. P.S. I also "saved as" the edited code to the part. Thank you for any help.

What ver of solidcam are you running?

You could save the posted code as different file name and put it in a differnet folder so the orgainl file remains unedited.

Under your cam settings, you sould be able to find 'editors' and use notepad.exe as the program to open your posted code to make this easier.

Without modifing your post, you will probly always have to edit the code yourself before sending it to your machine.

2008 Is the version I'm running
Do you know exactly how I would add the g64 correctly how does all those gcodes work that are at the beginning. Thank you for the info about the files I'll try that next time.

Never used a Mach or G64

Can't offer much help there.

I also only used Inventorcam 2011 and newer.
