    belt drive verses direct

im looking to convert my x2 to cnc and have read a ton on this . the one thing ive noticed is some of the conversions have a belt on the x-y-z axes . is there any benefit to this choice on such a small machine ?

No, it is completely unnecessary, and serves no useful purpose at all. It is necessary ONLY if using servos instead of steppers, but that, too, is a really silly waste of money on an X2, as steppers can provide all the performance that frame can make use of.

Thanks ray. I kinda figured that. Sometimes you just need to hear it from someone else.
