    Laptop for bobcad

    Anyone buy a laptop for bobcad lately? I have v24 and wonder if anyone knows one that would work good and still be under $1000.00

    I was told by a BOBCAD tech that I shouldn't even try to use a laptop...didn't understand the reasoning so I switched to a desktop and have no problems now.

    I have used a laptop for years with bobcad. Up to v23 I have been using a old Toshiba Pentium 4 with 64 Meg or shared video memory.

    Now with V24 I am seeing my computer having a hard time loading the program sometimes. I can still get it to work but not that great.

    So it would seem to me that a laptop should still run V24 and V25. It's just getting one that is known to work. That is why I ask.

    I am running a Toshiba with the i7 quad core processor and 4 gig of ram. I only time I have had any problems is with Bobart and computing toolpath that are very complex.
