I just threw a bag of the countertop mix in the car, along with 2 of the 45x90 pillars. Going to fill them at work tomorrow. Doing 2 at a time.

Side note. besides my X2 motor taking a dump, this was im sure a likely contributor:

DARN GIBS! One of the first things I plan to do when I finish my linear rail build, is to machine the gibs clear off my X2 build and convert that to linear rails.

Packed 2 of the upright columns.

The countertop mix is nice and soupy. Probably too soupy. I have been beating the column and drops of water occasionally spout out. Not really that concerned with the mix itself, just looking for its dampening qualities here.

I am terrified of that. I am MOST terrified of the concrete pour. Everything is prone to change... but once that concrete gets poured... it will be the devil to get off!

Just scored the additional 80/20, and the concrete is drying in the 4 uprights now.

Extra rails will arrive tomorrow, and the geko drivers Friday.

    Z axis

So, I have been reading along with everyone else and wanted to find out more about your Z. Have you planned that out yet? Is there going to be a column it will be mounted on or planning something else? I am trying to remember if you covered that yet. I remember seeing the Z axis plates but not the column or how it was going to be mounted.

    Inquiring minds want to know.

Those 12" x 24X plates will get bolted to the Aluminum extrude frame. Gantry style, but it doesn't move. Once I finish the frame it will become more apparent. Still filling the extrudes with concrete. All 4 pillars have been filled. Those are lunch break items at work.

Right now I just finished wiring up the dedicated computer, and the 50V power supply. All the electronics will be in a NZXT midtower computer case. The board is an X58 micro ATX, intel i7 920 (quad core 2.6GHz), and an Nvidia 8600 GTS.

A bit of a waste, considering what I have running my X2, but I have had the system in the closet for about a year. Oh yea... and a Solid State hard drive

    That should work very well.
I do have a small 60 GB SSD in my desktop. It is only used for Cache though.
I have been eyeballing them for reduced cost lately. They are coming down some now and increasing in size.
I'll hold off just a little longer.

Yea, the SSD is the single biggest upgrade you can do to a computer these days. Clock for clock getting a faster processor you might not notice, but an SSD every program loads so much faster. I figure that might help Mach. The drive isn't big enough for my daily usage, so I just figured it would be put to good use here.

There is so much going on with the BOB. Past the com step dir per access, the rest takes actual thought. The wiring diagram on the BOB leaves much to be desired.

You have a link to the BOB diagram?

Does it have a built in analog output for spindle control?

    C11 board

Think he said he was running a C11. I run a C11 and it says it will do spindle control.
I will be finding out soon as my eBay offer for spindle and vfd was accepted!
