    2010 Screenset error confusing me....

    Hi

I am using Gerry's Mach 2010 screen set (and loving it) but I occasionally get this error which I have no idea about.

During Z zero auto probing Mach sometimes pops up a messagebox just as the macro goes to go to the clearance plane. It reads:

"Z clearance plane is above Z axis Home Switch....." plus a whole bunch of other words.

Now, I don't have any home switches yet and the soft limits are set way above what the clearance plane is so this is totally confusing.

Has anyone any ideas what may be causing this?

    Cheers

It's not a Mach3 error, it's an error message from me. So I changed the title of the thread.

There was only one method I could come up with to keep everyone using my screenset from crashing their Z axis into the top of it's travel. Don't move pass Z0 in machine coordinates.
This must be at the upper Z limit for the macros to work safely. Typically, this is the home switch position. If you don't have home switches, then jog to the highest point possible and click "Ref Z" to set Z0 to the highest point of travel.

Softlimits don't have anything to do with this. The error means that you're trying to go higher than the machine is capable of going. Or at least that's what Mach3 thinks.
