    ??? For X4 - X5 Owners

Is there any room to tweak the machine and get a little more travel with out a major rebuild? The X5 Speedmaster with the optional extra high (35K) speed spindle is the closest (spec) machine to what I do the most of, but I really need a hair over 12" on the X axis.

The Tormach 770 isn't bad, but it tops at 10K. I have Hurco with a lot more travel, but it tops at 3K. (Yes I have seen the speeder that Tormach makes that hasn't been in stock for a while.)

The X5 Speedmaster would be very close to what I need for a high speed machine at the price if it had just a smidge more travel.

Are you saying that there is some more room for mechanical movement if the limit sensor is removed or relocated? How much room?

30mm is over an inch. That would fit it just over my primary work envelope. Thank you.
