    Mazak V12 Tool Change Help

The power went out during a tool change and now the tool change operation is out of wack, ie the arm is not in time with everything else. In my opinion it needs to be 'reset' and placed back in a home position. How would I go about doing this if that were to be the solution for this problem. I have called mazak and they informed me that the only thing i could do would be to play with hydraulic switches that controll the 'swing arm' (i hope everyone understands my terminology) and get it home. It seems like i can get it in the
correct position until i try to do a tool change and it fails (not in time).

Isn't there some reality TV show that sends you out on a snipe hunt, and while you're gone rebuilds and restores your old Mazak?? And Chip Foose does a custom paint job and they have fake cops that tell you it's stolen?

My take is that you need to somehow get the tool turret back in the "home" position, and power it back on.... One would think that it wouldn't "remember" that it got lost.

Could be this machine be late '70's? Mazak had their own control even in '83.

This machine very well could have been made in 1970's. This machine has a tape reader. Anyone know when they stopped making the tape reader?

LOL! Maybe when the guys who serviced the ASR33s were dying off... and the fact that the readers couldn't handle 2ft dia rolls.. You could still get 'em in the mid '80s. After that, I think it was just NOS stuff on shelves.

Our tape stuff finally went bye-bye around '85.
