Haveing some issues with one of my smart motors, sounds like a bearing has failed inside of it, does any one know of a good repair shop for these units

Did you find anything out on this yet? I'm curious just in case mine would take a dump.

Bearing failures are kind of rare but since we have a pile of cores with bad coils, I can install a new armature with bearings and encoder ring easily. I will not charge for the repair, only shipping. Just include a note with your return address and what you need done. Ship to our new Alabama address. I will re-test it and verify good operation.

SM2315 motors may be obtained from Doug Mullins while his stock lasts at about 1/2 price. New motors. Call us (DT) for his contact info.

SM2316 motors- We have negotiated a deal with our distributor to allow customers to buy directly from them at OUR cost. Call us for contact info also.

Smart Motor repairs: We are completely out of motors and parts. You can obtain motors from Animatics distributors OR our distributor Bertelkamp utomation at 800-2519134 ask for Janet.
Do not get class 5 motors. Completely different firmware. You can get then on e-bay. Be very sure to get a non DOA guarantee. Best results have been with SM2337D motors. These have proven to be most reliable. They are drop-in replacements for 2315 and 2316 motors. The only issue is when changing from 2316 to 2337, you have to set the encoder scaling to 1/2 of what is shown with the 2316 motor.
