I just found out about MTConnect and am interested in hearing from anyone who is using it on their machines:

How much do the adapters cost? Esp. for older models.

What other costs were involved in implementation?

What software are you using?

What kinds of data analysis/monitoring are you doing?

How did the implementation go? Time to get setup? Training?

Any other pertinent information would be appreciated.

Thanks Dave. I've actually been reading a lot and watching the videos on the website, but I was looking forward to seeing how many people in the cnczone community are aware of MTConnect and hearing the nitty gritty about their experiences with implementation and use. I am actually in contact with System Insights about getting set up at our plant, but I was hoping to get a conversation going on the forum to raise awareness about it.

I first heard about MTConnect a few days ago at the GlobalSpec virtual conference on Machining and Metalworking, great presentation by the way. I am convinced that this new standard has the potential to revolutionize manufacturing. I am super psyched about seeing our company benefit from it and would like to avoid anything that might cause people to be hesitant about embracing it.
