Coolant Water in my Hydraulic Oil Main Tank???

Why is there coolant water in my Hydraulic Main Tank??? I noticed last week that my coolant water kept getting low too quickly. As I looked for the water leak I noticed that my Hydraulic Oil Tank was what seemed to be over-filled. I drained it a bit and what came out was mostly water...

Where do the two systems cross paths? Maybe a corroded heat exchanger that is leaking? Bad gasket somewhere? Hard to say without knowing the machine.

Coolant is going down the spindle tube, it's overfilling the water return box, and sucking into the return of the hydraulic actuator for the chuck.

Sounds like it could be happening... I am machining smaller parts where the coolant is almost shooting into the spindle hole... I will try to temporarily plub is with a sponge or something to see if this resolves this issue while we machine these parts...

    Thanks Matt,
I hope that this is not the issue... We might have to contact the mechanic if plugging the spindle hole does not help...

"Underthetire"... Thanks for the post. We cleaned out the water return box & hose and the problem was fixed...
