    Solid Model Stock

In the V25 there is now a stock wizard. If I were to name the wizard I would call him Gandalf,

One of the new features is a Solid Model Stock. This is a great tool for pre machined parts or casting. Where the solid model stock sets a 3D boundary for your 3D tool paths. Completely eliminates the air time created by using just a 2D stock boundary! I've really only seen this options in much more expensive CAM systems, but now BobCAD has it too

Just used this on a large STL dataset and with no boundry, the toolpath was much cleaner around the edges. This is going to be a great feature.

Fully agree with you Burr, this is a big step forward and really so useful in a lot of ways. Excellent ! !

Al, can you ask Gandalf if he will do the same for the Lathe ? ?

    Regards

There is a Lathe guy in the BobCad forum who was looking for this and recently made the feature request.. He'll be stoked if/when it comes... This will be a GREAT feature for the Lathe!

Yep, saw that thread and all the Lathe guys will love it for sure, I might just add the Lathe to my V25, haven`t upgraded that since V23 as there has been little change on the Lathe side and a lot of the time I can hand code a simple canned cycle to the shape I need anyway
