    X- axis lag adjustment

    Help!! Does anyone know how to adjust the x- axis lag on a 1991 Tree 325. It has MSI Motor Drives and it has been a really great machine for us.

    The balance pot on the x axis card sets standing lag, should be as close to zero as possible. The tach pot adjust moving lag. Pots are labeled on the board.

    OK thanks for the input, but I am not sure which one to adjust. There are 6 different spots to adjust on that board. Top to bottom they are listed as;
    YC , SG , BL , RC , PC , TG.
    Any idea??

    I'm more familiar with the Servo Dynamic drives, but I'll take a swag:

    YC - don't know
    SG - Signal Gain (Command Voltage Input Scaling)
    BL - Balance
    RC - Compensation
    PC - don't know
    TG - Tachometer Gain

    If you're happy with how the Y axis is working, I would suggest that you adjust the lag on the X axis to match Y. I think you'll find that you can adjust the lag by moving the SG pot.

    Balance (BL) should be adjusted with the axis at rest. You're looking for a lag amount of zero, but there always seems to be +/- .0001"
