    Learning Gibbs Engraving

    Hi guys,

    I am new to gibbs and try to learn gibbs 4th axis. How do i engrave text which wrap around a cylinder? Please Help. Thanks

    You need simultanious 4 axis post.
    create a solid the outer dia of what you are to engrave.
    create your engrave geometry.
    select the solid and geometey .
    if all set up is correct it will engrave about A or B axis
    good luck

    You need the Polar & Cylindrical Milling (Rotary Mill) option and the rotary mill post.

    What about using the "wrap" button to wrap the geometry around the stock?

    You don't need to view geometry as wrapped to machine it in rotary mill mode. The workgroup containing the geometry must be set as Wrapped, and Polar & Cylindrical Milling must be checked in the Rotate tab.

    I got the toolpath and the engraving work on the machine. but 1 problem that all the wording is backward. When i cut part rendering, everything look the way it supose to be. but when i tried to run on machine, everything is oposite. What did i do wrong? Thanks guys

    Is the rotary axis direction going the correct way in the rotary axis setup page?

    I think the set up is corrected. I enclosed the file i want to engrave. Thanks for your help

    I believe cadman is correct. You have your rotary defined in the wrong direction. See screenshot attached.
