    Exclamation help:alarm 480&487 for emco maxxturn 65 fanuc 18i

hi i no this is dump but i have to ask
i just moved to another cnc workshop and while starting up this machine and then referenced all axis i switched off the machine
now the machine cannot go to referance place because it is there
and the alarm displayed is 480 and 487 as listed in images
    so the question is
how to move the machine manually to re-referance the axis

    solution of this alarm

You first have to sure that what type of encoder are you using... it is a incremental encoder or a absolute encoder. If it is a incremental encoder then it will not store the value of reference point after switch off. and you should return the axis to the opposite direction of reference point to de attach the reference dog. Once you have done it then you can re reference the axis again. It will happen after every switch off.

absolute encoder store the value of reference point. if you use this type then be sure that the battery power of encoder is ok.

If this can solve your problem i will be happy.

    Hello,

I just ran in to the same issue, when for some reason the x-axis was able to move way up but did not respond when I tried to jog it the other way.
I also had the 410 alarm before.

How did you overcome these errors eventually, assuming you found it?

    Thanks in advance
