    Mach 3 on Windows 7

    Hello,

I got a new PC - Dell OptiPlex GX620 - and it runs Windows 7 32 bit. Before I've used a old PC with windows XP 32 bit and Mach 3 was running beautiful.
Now, on this DELL with Windows 7, things are not so good. My CNC is running but my feed rate is to high so I get a lot of noises. I think that I have to do some changes on Mach3 running on Windows 7 to have a smooth working of my CNC.
So please can you give me some details to make my CNC to run smoothly.
    Thank you all.

I have the same settings on Mach3 from the windows Xp and now(on Windows 7) my CNC is not working like before. The kernel is the same but the speed is low and it makes a lot of noises. It seems that he will break in pieces.

Windows is stealing time from Mach3 driver. Get rid of lots of scheduled stuff like file indexing, phone home ET and all the other crap.
read all of this... and do some more thinking and investigating.

IDE drives can cause problems. SCSI OK. Plus heaps more.
Super X3. 3600rpm. Sheridan 6"x24" Lathe + more. Three ways to fix things: The right way, the other way, and maybe your way, which is possibly a faster wrong way.

I'm using windows 7 64 bit with no problems, & nothing has been shut down, I think it will be how good is your computer, I have found that the IBM (Lenovo) built computers run the best, & have less problems for cnc controls
