    Machining in Melb

Hi guys, my name is Warren. I have just started to purchase items re building a benchtop router/mill. I have all my electronics and have been slaving over Mach 3 learning the basics.

I mostly wish to make 2D parts from delrin and aluminium.
I have all my drawings finished, now I need someone to machine some parts for me. Is there anyone on this forum located on eastern side who could help out please.
I am located in the south eastern suburbs.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Warren.

    Thanks for the reply Gully.

Here is the side elevation of the machine. Lower rails (Y Axis?) are 20mm NSK Guide rail mounted to 40x80 T-Slot extrusion.

X Axis (Across??) are 15mm NSK guide rail mounted to 30x30 T-Slot Extrusion with a 6mm alloy back plate to form a H section.

Main gantry is 12mm aluminium. Main lower ends are also 12mm aluminium bolted into the 40x80 T-slot.

Y Axis is 450 Oz stepper and X and Z axis are 265 Oz. Running off a G540 Gecko at 48V. This really makes the system fly.

Y axis and X axis have 16mm Dia x5mm Lead Ball screws and Z axis has 12mm Dia x 4mm Lead ball screw.

I have individual drawings of the components I need machined for any-one interested.

    Thanks again, Warren. .

    Hi Warren,
That looks like it will be a sturdy little machine, with good quality kit running it.
Sadly, I dont think my little Joes would cope with cutting the ally parts to the accuracy you would need,(plus we are in the middle of moving and it's packed up) but I can give you details of a commercial trade supplier of mine that should be able to cut them for you on their big cnc router. PM me if you want their contact details.

    regards,

    Gully
