My company has multiple types of Mazak machinery in our shop and they want to lock out all the machine programs with the key on the controller, problem is when doing this it locks out options that the operators need like tool geometry, time life, edit tool, etc.... I would like to have the key lock out only program edits and allow the other options to work.

The perticular model that I am trying to work on is a Mazak Quick Turn Nexus 200 w/ Mazatrol 640 Nexus Controller. I 'm hoping that someone has had to do this to there machine and can walk me through our machine or can point me in the right direction. Thanks a Million, Chris

Sytems such as Mazak (Mitsubishi control) and Fanuc have 4 PMC/PLC keylock inputs for each function, But in fact most OEM's and MTB's parallel the inputs under one Key switch, rather than clutter the panel with more than one switch.
It is usually harder to modify the Mazak's as they have their own variation of the Mitsubishi controller.
Otherwise it is a case of identifying the inputs and separating them, either physical input or PLC function.
I have never done it on this controller unfortunately.

Either that or number all your programs using 8000/9000 numbers and lock out by parameter....
