I lost the ability to rapid. My toggle switch appears to be working. I used a multi meter and checked continuity between connections on the switch and resistance changed when the switch was toggled. I am assuming the switch is good does anyone have any suggestions?

Fanuc 18t as far as I can tell every thing else is working no alarms, dry run,single block,incremental feed toggle works, jog works, just not in rapid, ref return works

Did you check for 24vdc on the switch?

Dry run on?

Door switch?

Dry run off but did not check for24 volts I just assumed since incremental toggle worked that rapid toggle had 24v I will check first thing in morning

You may want to check the limit switch for the tailstock pin on the left side of the tailstock body. When the pin is up the rapid traverse is disabled. The switch is covered but it still gets exposed to coolant and tends to fail after a while. They also have a socket head cap screw in the ring that activates the switch. Sometimes the piston rotates slightly as it goes up and down. When it gets to the "right" orientation the bolthead sticking out can physically break the switch. I used to replace those bolts with setscrews to avoid this. Good luck!
