    Machine set up for 220V/50hz, now on 110V/60Hz, need help

    I just moved a Sieg KX3 cnc into the USA that was initially set up to run on 220v/50hz and USA uses 110V/60 hz. The machine uses 1 KW from what I remember. What do I need to do to power this machine in the USA? Will using 220V/60Hz ruin the machine, do I need a transformer like this Electricity Transformer Adapter Voltage 600W Converter 110v/220v/240v 50HZ/60HZ | eBay but one that will support 1000W? Hope someone can give me some suggestions, I can't use the machine until I figure this out and am urging to play with it

    Maybe this will work? 110VAC <-> 220VAC - 1000W Step Up/Down Grounded Transformer for USA & Europe | eBay

    Should I get a 220V outlet installed by an electrician? Would he be able to move it to 50hz somehow? Is it important? Whats my best options here

    Why not use a 240v 1ph circuit?
    US and Canada have both 120v and 240v 1 phase available.
    For the vast majority of systems the 50/60hz is not going to be an issue.

    Yah I think I can solve the voltage issue easily, was more concerned about running it at 60hz, heard it runs hotter. Don't want to mess anything up, already had electric problems with the machine when I first got it, who knows, maybe it was originally made for the US market and they just changed the plug on it.

    It depends to some extent what components the machine consists of.
    The inductive reactance of inductive components is higher on 60hz, so in theory the current/heating would be less.
    But the typical make up of a machine such as the Sieg there is going to be very little affected, if anything.
    e.g. switching supplies, DC motor controller etc, even a 1ph induction motor is not going to make much difference, just higher rpm.
