I'm sure this is very obvious, but not to me. After generating toolpaths, how do I save G code to an .nc file?

It sounds like you are using a CAM software. Which one?
Does it save it as a different format? If so, just right click and change the extension. There should also be an option in whichever software your using in the properties or preferences section.

I'm assuming you are using madCAM since you posted in the madCAM forum. You can define the extension in your post.
Look for this:
*FILE_EXTENSION*
h << enter the extension here. In my case, this is .h
Did I miss the point??

I am using MadCAM 4.3 with Rhino 4 SR9. I generated a 3D toolpath.
I can go to Postprocess, click save and save as the default 1.nc as type Iso_G-code. This creates the 1.nc file with 0 bytes. I'd like to save a file containing the generated G-code.
I also don't understand the replies which ask what CAM software I'm using. Isn't MadCAM a plugin for Rhino only?
The problem was I needed to select the Iso_G_Code_4-axis.txt post-processor instead of Iso_G_Code.txt.
