any way to convert JPG to 3d?

I've got autodesk inventor 2013, I need to create 3d reliefs of images without drawing them from scratch. Any way to do that?

Basically I have a box I'm building and on the face I"d like to be able to put words, skulls, ponies, whatever. Any kind of image I can pull and put on there.

Several programs can help you convert raster images to 3D models. The quality of the output varies based on many factors. MasterCamART, Vectric, Blender, BMP Bender to name a few.

The short answer to you question is no. Jpegs do not contain any information for depth.

There are many programs that will allow you to use a jpeg and remodel it into a 3d.

I use online services to create reliefs. Check out Convert JPEG images into 3D Mesh , they have a free service.
