There are times when it would be more convenient to have a button of some type that would actuate the collet closer on the lathe rather then using the foot pedal. I was wondering if anyone had rigged up something like this or could possibly point me to an off the shelf devise that would accept the phone cord plug that currently plugs into the foot pedal?

all you have to do is put a momentary button on the mahine were you want it, run the wires to the contactor where the foot pedal goes. both can be hooked up at the same time and you could use either or.
it very simple.
