Hi everybody,
I've sent an email to [email protected] @08.10.2012 (never got any answer, see below this text compressed email content) instead (sorry) to this forum/everybody who would be interested to develop this inexpensive semi automatic solution for cutting S+R tubes (intended for various truss elements production)
I'd be happy to share all; since I'm not experienced in "Forums" please for direct mail at [email protected] or Skype talk: goranlosic

Esteemed Mr Douglass,
attached are few screen shoots about my idea / simplified tube cutting machine;
- two motors (1 linear and 1 circular motion only)
- some minor manual adjustments (positioning) of plasma (any) holder, for particular tube to cutt
- tube nesting/holder in the middle (!) of cutting object
- control height (plasma distance) rollers playing simultaniously Z axis (replacing motor) function ( - Z )
- to shift on another side, press down handle(with switch inside handle) to free linear plasma travel
Explanation:
- for intended job, truss manufacture, I accepted idea that useful lenght of machine, X axis does not need to be more than 1.5m (could be discussed)
- For trusses, no zig-zag single element is ever being so long, thus holding in center point(no big material weight) isn't going to cause problems
- Machine does not need to be very precise (elements later being weld together) neither full automatic
- Some manual presets before cutting first piece, doesn't harm or slow down production
