I'm lazy, I'm only "sparking" when the EDM is running....
HI klox,
I've tried EDGECAM to generate CNC code for our AGIE wire EDM
specialy for 3D (4 axes) but no sucess - very strange results.
Some friends in BG CAD/CAM forum reported the same poor result.
For 2D our operator uses some BG CAM software called SAGA/NC - DOS based.
For 3D we use mastercam - me and the other cnc programer.
Else for programing our milling cnc machinetools I use mostly EDGE CAM - 2 reasons :
1. We are subcontractor and moldmaker - the customers bring different solid models (ProE, SW, SE, INVENTOR) and EDGECAM is reading these models directly.
2. We have different controls on our machinetolls - FAGOR, HEIDENHEIN, Fanuc, HAAS, SIEMENS. - And the postprocesors in EDGECAM are easy adjustable.
For engraving I prefer to use mastercam- I do it on one small and fast Picomax 50
I've tested EDGECAM PART MODELER - working fine , but I prefer SW to do models

We use edgecam for wire it was a little hard to learn. The reseller pretty much didnt train us when we started just took the money. If I was to do it all over I would go with Peps or Espirit
