Hi all,
Can anyone explain what LSI stands for and what its function is within the FANUC control?
Hi all,
Can anyone explain what LSI stands for and what its function is within the FANUC control?
It usually refers to the IC technology used, LSI= Large Scale Integration.
IOW multi pin DSP or CPU type IC's used.
In the early days multiple IC's were used to perform simple processes.

Thanks Al.
So any LSI alarms on the newer i Series controls refers to issues in the relative circuit board? Such as a 749 S-SPINDLE LSI ERROR refers to a problem with a circuit board within the amplifier...
I could not find that particular LSI fault in the manual, but from the other LSI descriptions it almost points to a memory problem of some kind?
I see LSI overload when tapping for instance?

an error like '749 - S-SPINDLE LSI ERROR' would suggest first a faulty serial communication cable between main board and serial spindle amp module. If not then a board fault in the serial spindle amp module.

check/change the cable first, it's cheaper
