    Question G10L50 doesn't work

I currently am working on Mitsui Seiki with Fanuc 150 M control. I use G10 statement to change i/o channel for DPRNT out serial port, been doing this for years. the following exicutes without alarm but parameter 21 is not changed.

    G10L50
    N21R2
    G11
I can change manually but I need to change it via macro statement above. it even states in the Fanuc manual this parameter can be changed via G10L50.
G10L52 will give invalid G command alarm. Im thinking Keep relay or something.
I've been working with Fanuc and other controls for many years but I haven't seen this one yet. if anyone has advice please do post.
    Thanks
    MJC

There is nothing wrong in the syntax. Should make parameter 21 = 2
Are you sure this is the setting you need on your machine?

Shouldn't R2 be on the same line as G10?

This (G10L50) may be an option that isn't turned on in your machine.

No. (syntax is ok, including position of R2)

    Just found my 150i manual.

    Try G50 L52.

    G50? Shouldn't that be G10?

    original post says....
G10L52 will give invalid G command alarm.

sounds like the machine doesn't have that option

From what you are saying you have tried both G10L50 & G10L52.

Just encountered my first Fanuc 160 last week. The key element here is there 0 and the end of the 16. That means that the Fanuc is PC Based.

Our problem last week was that the OEM had their own software installed on top of the Fanuc and we could not get Parameter Write Enable to work depite trying everything I have learnt over the last 20 years.

It appears that the OEM has their own password protection on the Fanuc Parameter Write Enable so we couldn't unlock it and change a parameter.

Anyone else come across this - any chance this is why G10L50 doesn't work?
