    mill type spec's?

    Hi
I'm trying to work out what type of machining centre is being sold locally at auction. they have limited details. the only info is that it is a Cincinnati Sabre CNC machining centre, SN: 7040F00RO-0289, machine MCC06 (old).

I have tried googling this info but cant find any info about the machines specifications.

the only other noticeable markings is a worn milacron sticker. control looks like a GE fanuc series 0-m.

how are these reliability wise? are parts available if something is wrong with it?

thanks in advance for any info.

I have no idea what year. I was hoping the serial number may have a year code in it? I'm guessing it would be from the 80's.

I'm going to check it out in person shortly so hopefully there will be some more info on the plates.

I took a look at it in person and it turned out to be a 500. the spindle is sitting on a wooden block so I think I'll give it a miss.

cheers and thanks for the info.

I've got an 89 Sabre 750 with Fanuc 0M. Bought it used a year ago. Love the machine. Runs like a champ day in and day out.

Is it off the machine, sitting on a block, or just lowered to the table on a block?
If the latter, it could be just for shipping, if mechanically sound, the O control was a sort of work horse for Fanuc and spanned several other models.

it don't look like it is for transport. too small and unstable. it is under the quill not under the head. the machine looks like it has been sitting idle and the chips are rusty.
