zt2500y external m code mix up

Trying to integrate a LNS steady rest on a customers zt2500y, I want to use external M codes 443 and 444 for close/open as the I/O card that has the steady rest M codes is not in the machine. My problem is that 1.all external m codes will turn on the output for M440. 2. M443 actually turns on M442 and M441 outputs. and 3. M444 turns on M443 outputs. I have never encountered this problem before and I'm guessing that it is a ladder issue. But my controls experience is limited. Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

P.S. Control is a MSG-501 and the machine has MAPPS

I don't know if you have figured it out yet or not, but it sounds like your problem is that you are set up for a 10 M-code output. The machine only has 5 outputs it can use so when it is set for the 10 output it uses a binary out and you need to use some type of decoding logic. If you only need the 2 outputs you can get into the ladder and find the keep relay for 5 output/10 output and flip the bit. Once you do this you will get a single output for the 5 M-codes (M440-M444). Hope this helps.
