get a air conditioner freon pump from scrip yard. all vacuum pump can suck to produce atmospheric pressure of 14lbs per square foot. seal all leaking with double sided tape of the plastic cover on the mdf. small pump takes longer large pump faster. after some time the 14lb/foot pressure will press it down.

Sorry for hijacking the thread but I am looking for a vacuum source for my CNC machine. I am currently setting it up to use a 2.25HP Shop-Vac. I have an older freezer that works fine but isn't worth selling. If I can get the freon discharged for a reasonable price, would it be a good choice for a CNC table? I was told that without the freon I wouldn't have any oil for lubrication?

Oil can be added into the pump once you open the freon line and a oil air separator to stop oil getting out.

more important is the table vacuum channel look at

the point is to separate areas and minimize air flow (not to loss vacuum with there is leaks )
